IndiGo and AEGEAN Sign Codeshare Agreement

IndiGo, India’s leading low-cost airline, and AEGEAN, Greece’s largest carrier, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a codeshare partnership.

This collaboration aims to enhance connectivity and provide a seamless travel experience for passengers across their combined networks.

By combining their strengths, both airlines will offer expanded travel options, connecting India, South Asia, Greece, and Europe like never before.

IndiGo & AEGEAN Codeshare Agreement

The codeshare agreement allows both airlines to market flights operated by the other, significantly broadening their reach.

AEGEAN’s “A3” flight code will soon appear on numerous IndiGo-operated flights, giving AEGEAN customers access to a wide range of destinations across India and South Asia.

Similarly, IndiGo’s “6E” code will be added to AEGEAN’s domestic and European flights, primarily operating from its hub at Athens International Airport.

This partnership will simplify travel for passengers, offering integrated itineraries, through check-in services, and other conveniences. Further details about specific codeshare routes will be announced in the coming months.

To complement this partnership, IndiGo plans to launch direct flights to Athens in January 2026, operating six weekly services.

Meanwhile, AEGEAN will introduce flights to India by March 2026, starting with five weekly flights to Delhi and three to Mumbai. These new routes will strengthen the connection between India and Greece, catering to the growing demand for international travel.

Pieter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership. “This collaboration with AEGEAN is a significant milestone in our mission to enhance global connectivity and give wings to India.”

“Our customers can now book seamless travel itineraries across an expanded network, including Greece’s beautiful islands and other European destinations. By connecting two ancient civilizations, India and Greece, we are excited to foster stronger cultural and business ties through aviation.”

Eftichios Vassilakis, Chairman of AEGEAN, echoed this sentiment. “Partnering with IndiGo, one of the world’s fastest-growing airlines, is a strategic step to expand AEGEAN’s presence in the dynamic Indian market.”

“This partnership bridges Greece and India, offering passengers more travel choices and a seamless experience. We look forward to working with IndiGo to unlock new opportunities for tourism, business, and cultural exchange.”

Travellers can explore India’s bustling cities, serene landscapes, and South Asian gems with greater ease. Conversely, IndiGo customers gain access to AEGEAN’s robust European network, including Greece’s picturesque islands and key regional destinations.

The partnership also enhances convenience. With through check-in and integrated itineraries, passengers can enjoy a hassle-free journey from start to finish.
