Despite a tumultuous February marked by severe winter storms and unexpected operational hurdles, Flair Airlines has emerged as Canada’s leader in flight completion.
Despite the adverse conditions, the airline delivered a remarkable 94.5% flight completion factor.
Flair ensured safe and reliable travel for 292,178 passengers, a testament to their resilience and operational strength.
A Test of Operational Capability
“February truly tested our operational capabilities,” stated Maciej Wilk, Interim CEO of Flair Airlines. “Severe weather and unforeseen disruptions presented significant challenges. However, our team rose to the occasion, achieving the highest flight completion rate in the industry.”
“While on-time performance was affected across the board, our ability to adapt and maintain a high completion rate demonstrates our unwavering commitment to reliability.”
In a month where winter storms wreaked havoc on travel schedules nationwide, Flair’s performance stood out. WestJet achieved a 94.3% flight completion rate, followed by Porter Airlines at 92.8%, while Air Canada trailed at 90.8%.
On-Time Performance
The impact of severe weather was evident in on-time performance, with Flair flights arriving on time 59.1% of the time.
This figure closely aligned with Air Canada’s 60.9%, WestJet’s 59.3%, and Porter Airlines’ 56.4%, highlighting the widespread nature of the challenges.
Notably, Flair delivered on its On-Time Guarantee (OTG), with 83.5% of flights arriving within 60 minutes of their scheduled arrival.
February’s operational hurdles included substantial snowstorms across Eastern Canada and an accident at Toronto Pearson International Airport, further emphasizing the difficult conditions faced by all airlines.

Load Factor
Despite these challenges, Flair Airlines maintained an impressive 87.5% load factor, reflecting a 1.5% increase over January. This demonstrates a strong demand for their affordable travel options.
As Canada’s greenest airline, Flair continues to prioritize sustainability. They are the only Canadian carrier that voluntarily discloses their carbon emissions.
In February, they achieved a remarkable 82.28g CO2 per Revenue Passenger Mile (RPM), a reduction of over 4 grams compared to the previous month, even with increased passenger loads. This achievement reinforces Flair’s commitment to reducing their environmental impact.
Looking Ahead
Looking ahead, Flair Airlines remains focused on providing reliable, affordable, and sustainable air travel. With an expanded schedule planned for the future, the airline aims to connect even more Canadians and empower them to save more, explore more, and do more with less.
Flair Airlines, with its growing fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft, continues to expand its network, serving over 35 cities across Canada, the U.S., Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Jamaica. As Canada’s most reliable and greenest airline, Flair is dedicated to making air travel accessible to all.
